URBAN CAMPFIRE

Two-Day Workshop
January 19-20

The She Camps Urban Campfire is an in-person gathering of women to ignite their possibilities and release the ghosts from their past through fireside coaching, storytelling and activities. It is a safe place where vulnerability, failure, tears, and laughter are celebrated. Our mission is to acquaint you with all the fiery, adventurous, and beautiful parts of who you are. You have to know yourself before you can grow yourself, and at this year’s fire we are going to be doing both. We have a powerful line-up of life coaches and female entrepreneurs to guide you through the process.

Are you longing for the start of the next chapter in your life?

Are you on a mission? Are you ready to get serious about whatever has been in your heart and mind lately. Are you in transition? Have you recently put an end to something (maybe a job or relationship) and are in the process of welcoming something new into your life that is in alignment with who you are and what you value? Do you have an idea for a business that you would like to pursue, but find yourself unable to take action? Are you having trouble maintaining a healthy work/play balance? Do you feel confused when people ask you ‘what do you love?’ Are you craving a community of people you can connect to on a deeper level?

If any of these sound like you, than you’re exactly the person we’re trying to reach with this event. We would like to listen to your dreams and help guide you into action. We hope you’ll join us.

““Finding Yourself” is not really how it works. You aren’t a ten-dollar bill in last winter’s coat pocket. You are also not lost. Your true self is right there, buried under cultural conditioning, other people’s opinions, and inaccurate conclusions you drew as a kid that became your beliefs about who you are or who you’re “supposed” to be. “Finding Yourself” is actually returning to yourself. An unlearning, and excavation, a remembering who you were before the world go its hand on you.” - Emily McDowell

“The inspirational spark for the She Camps programs came from a long time deep desire to support women on their journeys toward big things. The ‘She Camps’ name popped up during a brainstorm session with our team, and I later realized the connection that the She Camps name has to my own personal journey when I owned and operated a rustic high mountain resort for 11 years in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon, Olallie Lake Resort. Gathering in circle around the fire of our passions, whether in the forest, or at the candle lit dinner table there is something magical about gazing into the flame. Introspection. Friendship. Transparent storytelling. Sometimes all we need are authentic listeners. The Urban Campfire is all about giving permission to NOT to have it all together.”
Dance, Love, Breathe, and Live Like You Mean It!

Exerpt from Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert:
An open letter to fear

Dearest Fear:

Creativity and I are about to go on a road trip together.

I understand you’ll be joining us, because you always do. I acknowledge that you believe you have an important job to do in my life, and that you take your job seriously. Apparently your job is to induce complete panic whenever I’m about to do anything interesting—and, may I say, you are superb at your job. So by all means, keep doing your job, if you feel you must. But I will also be doing my job on this road trip, which is to work hard and stay focused. And Creativity will be doing its job, which is to remain stimulating and inspiring.

There’s plenty of room in this vehicle for all of us, so make yourself at home, but understand this: Creativity and I are the only ones who will be making any decisions along the way. I recognize and respect that you are part of this family, and so I will never exclude you from our activities, but still—your suggestions will never be followed. You’re allowed to have a seat, and you’re allowed to have a voice, but you are not allowed to have a vote. You’re not allowed to touch the road maps; you’re not allowed to suggest detours; you’re not allowed to fiddle with the temperature. Dude, you’re not even allowed to touch the radio. But above all else, my dear old familiar friend, you are absolutely forbidden to drive.

FAQs

Q: Is the event inside or outside?
A: The She Camps Urban Campfire will take place inside of WingSpace Coworking.

Q: What should I wear?
A: Jeans, yoga attire, comfy casual dresses are all good. Wear comfy shoes (there will be movement activities).

Q: Should I go alone or should I go with friends?
A: You’re welcome to Invite a friend or two to participate, but this is a personal development workshop so keep in mind with whom you want to share this experience. At the She Camps Urban Campfire you’ll find a fun, social, and open environment where you’ll be able to connect with women you know and women you don’t in an unguarded way.

Q: What exactly is the She Camps Urban Campfire?
A. It is a two day workshop inspired by WingSpace Founder Melanie Banayat’s desire to engage women in authentic conversations about business, relationships and life. The workshop is more about letting your hair down and getting real about what it’s going to take to reach your goals and dreams. It’s about connection, dancing, and change. So bring your open mind, an empathetic heart, and your best listening skills.
By the end of the day, our goal is to have ignited the spark flickering inside of you in a big way. We promise to delight and inspire with storytelling, interactive breakout sessions, and challenges that will bring you to clarity.

Q: How many people will be there?
A. This workshop is only open to 24 participants, so be prepared for a lot of one-on-one attention and get ready to take action.

Q: Who might not be a good fit for this workshop?
A. If you have unresolved issues from a trauma or experience that triggers you in a negative way this is not a place to work out those issues. This is for those who have already worked through any kind of PTSD and or deeper emotional issues and are ready to start taking steps toward their dreams.

Q: What’s the main takeaway?
A.  Attendees will walk away feeling lighter, inspired and better equipped with tools to get you taking action toward reaching your dreams. You’ll gain a few new friends, new ideas, and fresh perspectives. You’ll also be treated to a delicious meal and snacks, S’mores, and a dance party.

Q: What’s the lineup? What can I expect to get from the experience?
A.  You’ll hear from strong women with powerful stories tell us about a moment in their lives when everything changed in a big way. What’s the story that led to their breakthrough, and what came after?
We’ll disperse into mini breakout sessions to tell our own stories, and connect over our Desires and the Vision for our lives. A group facilitator will help guide you to get you started if you’re having trouble. You’ll walk away at the end of the weekend with an action plan and a clear vision of the next steps to take to reach your goals and dreams..
It’s one of those kind of weekends where synchronistic connections can take place when you show up ready to receive. You never know. Come with an open mind.

Q: Is it for business people or stay-at-home moms or college students or all of the above?
A.  This event is for all women who are looking to ignite that fire within themselves
